Expert Care for Growing Smiles

At our practice, your child’s smile is in the care of two board-certified pediatric dentists, Dr. Matthew D. Pate, DDS and Dr. Robert W. Long, DDS, MSD. Becoming a board-certified pediatric dentist requires advanced education and specialized training beyond dental school, followed by a rigorous examination and ongoing commitment to professional excellence through the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

With this specialized expertise, our doctors provide comprehensive, compassionate care tailored to the unique dental needs of infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special healthcare needs. From your child’s first visit through every stage of their growing smile, we’re committed to providing exceptional care in a comfortable, welcoming environment.

Establishing a Dental Home Early

We begin seeing children as young as 12 months of age and encourage families to establish a dental home early in childhood. Starting dental care at an early age creates a foundation for lifelong oral health and gives your child a trusted place to receive consistent preventive care as they grow.

Early visits allow Dr. Pate and Dr. Long to monitor your child’s teeth, jaws and overall oral development while identifying potential concerns at an early stage. These visits also give parents valuable guidance about brushing and flossing, nutrition, fluoride, pacifier, thumb-sucking habits and other factors that can affect a developing smile.

Just as importantly, establishing a dental home early helps children become comfortable with dental visits and develop positive attitudes toward taking care of their teeth.

Comprehensive Pediatric & Orthodontic Care

Our services include routine examinations and cleanings, fluoride treatments, dental sealants, cavity prevention and treatment, monitoring of dental growth and development, orthodontic evaluations and treatment, and care for dental emergencies and injuries.

Because the development of the teeth and jaws is closely connected to a child’s overall oral health, we monitor growth and development throughout childhood. When orthodontic concerns are identified, we can provide appropriate evaluation and treatment as part of your child’s comprehensive care.

A Team Focused on Your Child

Dr. Pate and Dr. Long combine their expertise as board-certified pediatric dentists with a warm, child-centered approach. We take the time to build relationships with our young patients and their families, creating positive dental experiences while providing the highest level of care throughout every stage of development.

From the first tooth to a healthy, confident smile, we are here to help your child grow into a lifetime of excellent oral health.
